Oh, no! Errands and chores got the better of me yesterday. I probably would have been (much) happier to be inside than to be fussing about with broken soaker hoses among weed vines. 🙁

@PED: Thank you for arranging yet another impactful Ask-Me-Anything special event. Dan Moren is highly talented with a deep personal history in all-things-Apple. I enjoyed his work at Macworld through the years and appreciated his learned insights on the state of Apple today.

I’m up here in the Inland Northwest (Spokane) where temperatures are running 30 degrees higher than normal for this time of year. Because the weather up here is so temperate during the summer I, like 56% of my neighbors, do not have AC.

Yesterday and today the temp is going to be 107F. Tuesday it’s going to be 112F. Night time temps have been running around 80F. It’s forecasted to be over 100F for the next 7 days.

I spent yesterday taking a lot of cool showers, then parked in front of a fan. I went to a Perkins restaurant yesterday for a late lunch because it’s air-conditioned. I had no appetite, so I got an ice filled glass of Coke with a slice of apple pie smothered in ice cream. It was wonderful.

Bottom line is that I had no desire to watch Ask Me Anything.

Sorry to hear that Greg, the entire PNW is feeling similar temps and today will be worse or ain’t gonna be much better, so say the weather wags. Apple / Weather Channel app says PDX will be ~113, Spokane 108 and >100 for the week.

Hope you and the city stay safe and cooler. IMO, in the near future, it will be time to take some of the profits on options plays and AAPL stock to invest in top quality AC, insulation, and triple glazed windows and sun blocking shades to minimize heat gain and counter the high temps and allow you to be at home in relative ease. Many different options in central and now room to room AC systems, particularly high wall mounted systems which require no ducting. Consider getting them before the rest of the country heats up and demand overwhelms current or incoming offshore supply.

IMO, these heat waves are not 100 year events anymore but will be part of our lives for some time, so best to prepare. No fun to live retirement in hot misery.
