“There’s no challenge young people can’t solve.” — Tim Cook
From Tim Cook’s Weibo account:
There’s no challenge young people can’t solve and no limit to the creativity a fresh perspective can bring. It was a pleasure talking to [Xiao He] about the opportunities we all have to learn, grow and help others in the Year of the Ox.
My take: Charming. Who knew that the inspiration for Dark Mode came from China?
It was inspiring to hear the young man talk on the accommodation of the iPhone with the elderly who often are intimidated by technology and who often are the least likely to transition in the absence of accommodation & ease of use techniques. We know fully that Apple devices are some of the most user friendly devices, but the journey to make then more user friendly is a perpetual journey. Apple is one of the better companies who have sought workers affirmatively with severe disabilities. Apple is sensitive in making new products & services accessible to peoples with severe disabilities commensurate with their physical & mental capacities. I feel certain that Apple has established a multiplicity of linkages with disability organizations so as to have a network of resources for which to tap to continue their endeavor of turning out unique, innovative and creative products for all peoples, no matter their physical, mental capacities & age. Tim also noted the provision of instructional assistance through in-store & call-in. Many elderly will not reach out. So, it becomes incumbent to continue the quest of finding new & innovative paths toward ever increasing user friendliness & for children & grandchildren to do hands on work with their aging parents & grandparents as this young man seemingly does with his grandmother.
