Loup TV: Apple Fitness+ vs. Peloton (video)

Gene Muster and Andrew Murphy have ridden both. They compare and contrast, with user estimates and revenue targets.

My take: I don't own a Peloton and never dared take a spinning class. But I tried a couple  Apple Fitness+ classes on a stationary bike in the privacy of my basement. Fun!

I have upgraded OSs on all my devices, and have at least minimum hardware requirements.

    I can’t find Fitness +.

Can someone post a tutorial on finding it?

Go to the fitness app after software upgrade. Also, it is only on iphone or apple watch, not ipad.

I’m a dinosaur who still lifts weight at my advanced age. That being said, I’m certain that the Apple Fitness+ subscription will be a hit as a great many exercise aficionados will never be going back to the gym. Even with a vaccine.

Just like the work from home crowd put Brooks Brothers into BK, along with just about every local dry cleaners. The mega gyms have probably seen their best days while looking in the rearview mirror.

I am confounded by the lack of exercise equipment-game connection. Why is there no equipment that uses the speed of the bike/elliptical to drive the speed of a character in a game? Until my shoulder wore out, I loved racketball because the competition made me forget the fact that I was exercising. I want a stationary bike that does the same thing. Spinning doesn’t do it for me.

I dunno… The idea of an expensive bike with a TV with people who yell at you has zero appeal for me. (On my exercise machine, I read ‘pulp SF’ on an iPad 🙂 I tried podcasts, but either they weren’t engaging enough, or they required more concentration than was safe for me when exercising.)

Of course, as a graduate of a military school and time in the Army, I have had quite enough of being yelled at while exercising….
