Report: New AirPods come in 'white, black and night green' -- UPDATE: Wrong

I think Apple calls it "midnight green."

From Cheng Yuxiang's "AirPods 3 is coming to the factory chain (Google translation)," posted Saturday in the Chinese language Economic Daily:

Following the iPhone 11, Apple announced that it will launch the flagship third-generation True Wireless Headset (TWS) AirPods Pro. Due to the popularity of the first two generations and the upcoming Christmas season, it is expected that new products will be launched. Come to a wave of buying tides, with Wang Kang control - KY, Meilu, Xin Rixing and other Taiwanese supply chain.

According to foreign sources, the third-generation AirPods is likely to be named AirPods Pro, the price is also quite expensive, the price will jump from 260 US dollars (about NT$ 8,027), will be the most expensive true wireless headset in Apple's history, analysis The division predicts that AirPods shipments are expected to reach 50 million to 55 million units this year and 80 million units next year.

This AirPods Pro will focus on noise reduction and waterproof performance, and even will release a variety of colors, including black, white, night green, etc., there are eight kinds, so that the fruit powder is quite expected; as for the charging box part, With wireless charging function, and the design of the box is flat, in addition to the new shape of AirPods, more importantly, it is easy to carry.

My take: Lost in translation?

UPDATE: Wrong. White only. See here.

It sounds appealing. Different color options. I assume noise reduction is “noise cancellation.” Waterproof is another great option, especially for individuals who sweat profusely during intense exercise. I assume now that after exercise the wearer will be able to run water over them, then dry the AirPod Pros similar to cleaning one’s sports Watch bands after intensive physical exercise to preclude sweat erosion of AirPod Pro materials.

Pictures that I have viewed show the stalk part, containing the batteries, are reduced in length about a third, maybe even half, resulting in a smaller case. I do welcome reduction in the length of the stalks, but the size of the container case already was small. Being smaller will be even nicer for storing in pockets.

The increased price is expected for the Pro, but $260 US dollars means these little babies better not fall out of the ears, especially on airplanes, etc. where finding them afterwards usually is unsuccessful. It is one thing to go buy a replacement pair for $159, it is another matter of doing so at $260.

The buds already have a great sound, but all the reading material I have read denoted that the Pro would have even more enhanced quality sound, perhaps a little enriched base, too. I saw no mention of upgrade sound in the Air Pod Pro article.

    And some people don’t think Apple will have a $90 billion+ FQ1. It’s all so strange…

Make sure to check out all three pics. They are tempting…. Wonder if they will be more comfortable?
BTW don’t forget you can use “Find My” to make them make a sound if you think you have lost them. This has worked pretty well for me…
