Sleepy Apple subsidiary makes funny ad (video)

Once upon a time, there was a small root vegetable farm…

“Wait, we’re worth millions?”

From the press release:

With this new campaign from FileMaker, we are looking to tell our story in a fun, engaging way using characters almost everyone can relate to — in a situation that puts the ‘fun’ in dysfunctional… It stars actors Kate Flannery, Leslie David Baker and Paul Lieberstein of The Office fame.

My take: Wait, Apple still owns FileMaker?

Phillip, my wife is a Filemaker developer and she’s got a few customers running multi-million dollar businesses on it. Using whatever is best (iPad in the field and Mac + Windows in the office) to enter + access their data on layouts customized to how they work has been a game changer for many of them. – Roger

Hmmm… they could make a funny show out of that.

Used FMP in my business (wait we’re worth millions?) since its first version in the late 1980’s. Awesome platform and app. Loved the ad, thank you!

Honestly, not hatin’, but I thought the ad was lame.

The platform may be phenomenal, but this just didn’t sell it for me. Even a … turnip farm (word choice intentional) … could be made to look more exciting than that and sell more product – both turnips and FileMaker Pro.
