Overstock: Look what Samsung’s stuck with

From Gijong Lee’s “Samsung has staggering 50 million smartphones in stock” posted Monday on TheElec:

Samsung had nearly 50 million units of smartphones in distributor stocks, TheElec has learned.

Its mid-tier Galaxy A series took up a huge portion of smartphones in inventory being read to be sold, sources said…

Samsung had manufactured around 20 million units of smartphones per month from January to February.

But his dipped to 10 million units in May — a likely reaction to too many units in the inventory and low demand.

My take: Apple can’t make iPhones fast enough to meet demand. Samsung made its smartphones too fast.

    Wow.

A little chuckle at Gurman’s (and others’ expense). In the interview with Dave Lee on EVs and autonomy, they discussed Apple’s lack of a foldable phone as lack of innovation, and a competitive disadvantage.

Erik of MS said, people are switching to iPhone in China. Customer choice tells the truth. Trust data, not rumor mongers

Maybe Samsung can sell two for the price of one with a piece of Duct Tape. Do it yourself foldable phone. Apple will immediately fall further behind because of it’s inability to respond to such an innovative move.

I was given a new Samsung A series phone from work last year. My iPhone 6S Plus was faster at performing tasks. I was very grateful my employer upgraded my phone to an iPhone 11 this year.

Maybe Samsung could contract with Apple for a few Liams to help with that backlog. Well maybe more than a few…
