Apple’s WWDC21: Days 2 and 3 recaps (videos)

  1. Eric J. Savitz over at Barron’s is exploring the involvement of the content- delivery networks Fastly (FSLY), Akamai Technologies (AKAM), and Cloudflare (NET) in the deployment of new Apple iCloud+ and Hide My Email safety features. Fastly services seem to have played some role in the recent massive Internet outage.
While the potential for acquisitions exists, I see Apple’s focus on personal cyber security/privacy becoming a major differentiator. Infrastructure attacks and corporate/government breaches often start with a phishing email/txt to an employee. All my years of training folks not to open strange emails or click on unknown links didn’t overcome curiosity. VPNs require significant trust. I trust Apple, in this regard. Any firm that addresses these concerns will get more business as AARP and Readers Digest articles start to disseminate these features to non-techie consumers.

With AAPL’s rise of yesterday and (so far) today, it doesn’t look like I needed to be as conservative as I was with this weeks trade.

I’m OK with that, I’d rather leave some profit on the table than re-experience my losses of the past 5 months.

I used to watch and listen to Serenity Caldwell on “iMore” before it was called iMore and was surprised when Apple snapped her up.

A smart and proper move for both of them apparently as she is a dyed-in-the-wool Apple zealot and has a talent for easily explaining the complicated.

What I didn’t notice is how excellent her voiceover is until hearing it professionally recorded for these videos.

Apple should make her voice their standard.
