How to attend today’s virtual Apple shareholder meeting (it’s tricky)

If you don’t have your 16-digit unique control number in hand, plan to show up at least 15 minutes early.

From Apple’s “Notice of 2021 Annual Meeting of Shareholders and Proxy Statement” posted last month:

This year, Apple will host the 2021 Annual Meeting of Shareholders on February 23, 2021 at 9:00 am P.T. in a virtual only format. You can access the meeting by visiting on the day of the meeting. The bank, broker, or other organization that holds your Apple shares will be issuing proxy materials to you that will include a unique control number. You’ll need that unique control number to access the meeting, and vote during the meeting. If you would like to attend the virtual meeting and you have your control number, please come back 15 minutes prior to the start of the meeting on February 23, 2021 to log in.

If you came through your brokerage firm’s website and do not have your control number, you can gain access to the meeting by logging into your brokerage firm’s website 15 minutes prior to the meeting start, selecting the shareholder communications mailbox to link through to the meeting and the control number will automatically populate.

For optimal viewing and usage, this site is best viewed with a screen resolution of 1024×768 and above. Click here to test your browser’s compatibility. If you experience technical difficulties during the log-in process or during the meeting please call 1-844-917-0955 (toll free) or 303-562-9307 (international) for assistance.

My take: This won’t be an easy party to crash.

It was easy. I signed up at 8:45AM. No lags or anything.

It was kind of odd that they used memojis instead of actual pictures. I liked having the captions to read as this was more serious content.
