Apple iPhone tops satisfaction survey for sixth straight year

MacDailyNews’ take: Why are the fake iPhone’s customer satisfaction scores so high? Because most of the Android settlers have never used a real iPhone. They have no idea what they’re missing and how bad their user experience really is.

From the MDN comment stream: “putting the power button immediately opposite the volume buttons is the stupidest thing anyone could possibly do on a phone.”

My take: The commentator has a point. I take more accidental screenshots than I take photos of my children.

    Call it Monday Morning Quarterbacking or whatever, it’s easy to criticize when one isn’t the one doing it or doesn’t have to do it better. Apple consistently earns my confidence and continued trust.

    Fishing my IPhone XS from my left front pants pocket rarely if ever leads to a screenshot, but then I’m not a “tight two finger gripper”. The XS is tall enough to rest the bottom on my pinky and hold by the other four fingers in either hand. When I want screenshots, as I have been for Covid-19 work and country daily stats, I carefully frame my webpage shot, sometimes enlarging text for easy reading, then use two opposing hand fingers instead of a one handed squeeze – very intentional. I suppose Apple’s design for convenience is another’s accidental activation.

    Another way to screenshot articles is copy to or make a pdf to books. Reader view is also useful to eliminate ads and such if you don’t use a Safari ad blocker.

    Re: the MacTalk take, it may be somewhat accurate but rather inflammatory and demeaning. There are many many dominant reasons why people choose their smartphone products, not the least being user familiarity with what they already use and of course price. With the iPhone SE and promotions, Apple now has given more incentive than ever for the sweet spot of Android users to consider switching. We’ll see if those Android conquests occur.
