Apple TV trailer: An edgy, time-shifting, off-putting Dickinson

It’s not fair to judge a show by the trailer. But still.

From the write-up:

Dickinson is a half-hour comedy series starring Oscar® nominee Hailee Steinfeld. Created by Alena Smith, Dickinson audaciously explores the constraints of society, gender, and family from the perspective of rebellious young poet Emily Dickinson.

Cue the video:

My take: Comedy? I know it’s not going to end in marriage, and I’m not seeing any laughs. But maybe I’m too close to Emily DIckinson (15 miles as the crow flies).

Speaking of birds,

A Bird, came down the Walk –
He did not know I saw –
He bit an Angle Worm in halves
And ate the fellow, raw. — E.D.

I’m going to assume, like The Morning Show, that the second trailer will be better than the first trailer.

Wow – don’t know how anyone can have a valid opinion based on that 30 second clip. I, for one, am intrigued and want to know more. And, isn’t that the reason for a teaser?

I’m going to guess that this is intended for the kids, not old guys like me.

I saw a guy riding down the sidewalk on something like a skate board. It had just one, wide wheel and lights in front. I asked my son what that was. He replied “It’s the future, dad.”
