Apple’s earnings week: What Tim giveth, Trump taketh away

When the President tweets a new tariff threat, everybody feels the pain.

From “Trump says US will impose 10% tariffs on another $300 billion of Chinese goods starting Sept.1” Cue the video:

My take: Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. As The Atlantic’s David Graham put it in another context, “the tweeting will continue until the chyrons improve.”

December quarter tariff impact on Apple:

December quarter 2018 Apple booked USA hardware revenue likely in $27-$28 Billion range (of $84 Billion total revenue).

Whether tariff absorbed internally or added to retail price, looking at low single billions hit to income.

That’s US hardwear revenue, I thought tariffs only apply to the cost of goods. Is that not correct in the US?

160 would make it a double in 18-24 months. Too bad you seem to be clueless on price predictions

and somehow every prediction i’ve made here has been correct.

Apparently you’re a legend …. in your own mind.

Your record here is pedestrian. A few posts ago you claimed you changed your price target in private. Look up “transparency” and “accuracy” and “professionalism” in the dictionary. You’re nowhere to be found.
