Apple tweets a product release

The official announcement of the much-delayed wireless AirPods case landed 20 minutes later.

Press release: AirPods, the world’s most popular wireless headphones, are getting even better

Cook’s fastest follower on Twitter, Not Jony Ives, was not impressed: “Try drawing up the release of AirPower.”

My take: Apple is getting all the spring hardware announcements out of the way, and having a little fun doing it. As for voice-activated Siri on the AirPods? Meh. At least until Siri gets better.

Personally, I’m excited about the “New & Improved AirPods.” I got my first pair on the first day they were available over 2 years ago. The battery life has really taken a dive, especially when it’s cold outside. Ordered my new ones this morning.

I think Hands-free Siri is a big deal, especially when doing hands-free tasks, such as exercising or work around the house. For the wireless charging, that’s a “Meh” for me that I can live without, but I ordered the wireless charging case nonetheless. Can’t get my new AirPods soon enough.

    Nice set up for “Showtime”.

All devices with screens get faster chips and faster graphics – great for video and games.

New AirPods with better sound and battery life augmented with wireless charging.

      Great point.

Apple’s future: continuing support for Mac OS with innovation and growth in iOS and A Series SOCs.

It’s remarkable that so little media attention has been paid to Apple’s functional, market, and performance dominance over Android tablets. Apple and its Enterprise partners will wildly outsell Android into the Enterprise.

Within a few years, Apple will ship laptops that run as touch iOS/OS Mac on iPads and mouse iOS/OS Mac on desktops and notebooks. Neither Android nor Windows have no horse to compete with the quality, security, and UX of touch iOS,.
