Apple breaks $193: Look which analysts are all wet now

Do Goldman Sachs, Barclays, Deutsche Bank, BMO, Mizuho, Nomura, Raymond James, Atlantic Equities, Bernstein, Key Bank etc. know something that Tim Cook doesn’t?

Three weeks ago, before Apple climbed another $10, eight analysts were telling their clients that Apple would lose value over the next 12 months. On Wednesday that number swelled to an even dozen.

*The market high estimate comes from an analyst who has asked not to be identified on this site. His name and most recent affiliation, however, are no secret. See, for example, here.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story had an outdated price target for UBS. Thanks to friend-of-the-blog Gregg Thurman for catching that.

UBS upgraded its AAPL price target to $210 on June 1.

Of those underwater, I don’t hold it against them if their targets were issued earlier than March unless they reiterated their targets since then.

The most egregious of the underwater targets are from:
    Barclays
    BMO
    Deutsche Bank
    Goldman Sachs
    Mizuho

The rest can be forgiven because their targets are for 6 months or more further out, and they haven’t updated them. I don’t expect upgrades from this group until after July earnings. In that group are:
    Credit Suisse
    Instinet/Nomura
    JP Morgan
    Pacific Crest
    Raymond James
    Rosenblatt

I have deleted Cowan from my list of firms today as it hasn’t upgraded its target (with no reiterations) in more than 13 months.

I don’t see Ed Zabinsky of ACI. Few years ago he had. 30ish price target. Remember him, Philip?

I detect a change in the air around the way Apple is viewed. Privacy, security, consistency, respecting the customer, are all winning…

PED, it appears that this list needs to be updated again within the next few days when 3 more anal-ysts join the blue group.
