Before there was Gordon Kelly there was Rocco Pendola.
Friend-of-the-blog Gianfranco Pedron has the scoop.
Rocco Pendola (Tim Cook must go! — The Street) used to make me angry.
Now, he’s a bartender.
… just sayin’.
(Here’s Pendola’s LinkedIn page.)
It’s easy to spread fear, uncertainty and doubt about Apple. It’s hard to make a long career of it. Pendola’s moment in the sun came between 2012 and 2014, when he was calling for Tim Cook’s ouster on TheStreet and getting face time on CNN.
I wrote about Pendola for Fortune in late 2014, shortly after he left TheStreet. See What happened to TheStreet’s Tim-Cook-must-go campaign?
Below: Pendola on CNN in 2013. “Jake, if Steve Jobs were alive he would strangle Tim Cook.”

UPDATE: Pendola’s response.
As usual, your work is incredibly misleading.
First, it assumes my intent was to “make a career out of” being anti-Apple. Not the case.
Second, and more importantly, it assumes that I did not have a say in my fate. If I wanted to I would still be writing/editing for Seeking Alpha. I quit. I not only quit, but I quit to bartend. It’s what I wanted — and want — to do.
And there’s a factual error in your story as well — I did not lose my job at TheStreet. I quit.
It bewilders me as to why you would waste your time writing about me in the first place. But if you’re going to do it, do it well — and with accuracy.
