Tune in after the markets close today, Oct. 25, for Apple’s results. I’ll be auditing the earnings call and you can too. Here’s the webcast link.

I’ll post the analysts’ reactions Wednesday morning and my quarterly best-and-worst-analysts list before lunch.

Thanks, as always, to Posts at Eventide’s Robert Paul Leitao for pulling together the independent Braeburn Group numbers.

A question for the PEDosphere: Can we define a ‘goodness metric’ that we could apply to each analyst, that takes into account his/her previous accuracy? I’m thinking it would be great to see the predictions spreadsheet, along with the after-results scorecard, with an extra column showing the historical score.

If I recall, it’s all over the map. A couple folks have nailed it for one or two quarters (Chuck Jones comes to mind), but have been in the middle of the pack on other quarters. I’m not sure you could find anyone who you could point to as being particularly accurate. Among the best scores would be those who consistently miss by an average amount, which isn’t really helpful.
