How to watch Apple’s WWDC 2016 keynote live

Here’s the link and the fine print.

The fine print:

Requirements: Live streaming uses Apple’s HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) technology. HLS requires an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with Safari on iOS 7.0 or later, a Mac with Safari 6.0.5 or later on OS X v10.8.5 or later, or a PC with Microsoft Edge on Windows 10. Streaming via Apple TV requires an Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation) with software 6.2 or later or an Apple TV (4th generation).

It seems to me Apple doesn’t hide complexity as well as it once did. On the other hand, this is a conference for developers.

Stop with the walled garden nonsense. There are 1 billion iOS devices being used by 800 million iOS owners. The iOS app store has more developers than any app store in history and it’s making far more money for developers than any platform in history.

It’s kind of problematic to contend that a platform that 1 out of every 10 people on the planet uses is “closed”.
